Dorchester County Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a Partners for Success Parent Partner. This is a part-time, hourly position that is located in the Family Support Services office at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School. This position reports to the Supervisor of Special Education.
DUTIES:
- Creates and organizes a database structure for the Partners for Success resources;
- Processes new materials;
- Maintains Assistive Technology inventory;
- Maintains professionalism and keeps all information in the strictest confidence for families and professionals;
- Assists with the preparation of the quarterly newsletter, Together We’re Better.
- Gathers articles and pictures
- Establishes a database to create a mail merge for distribution of the newsletter
- Disseminates newsletter
- Assists with the coordination of the various trainings/activities that the Partners for Success Resource Center conducts/facilitates;
- Assists with the preparation of training materials, evaluation forms, facility, and audiovisual equipment required for the trainings;
- Accompanies the FSS educator on home visits to inform parents of supports provided and takes part in the Celebrate Your Child initiative
- Assists parents and educators when they request information through the center;
- Locate books and materials housed in the Center
- Utilize the Internet to provide current information for parents and educators
- Assists with public relations activities to promote the Center;
- Participates in public awareness activities
- Prepares materials to distribute (flyers, brochures, advertisements, invitations, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a High School diploma or equivalency;
- Be a parent / direct caregiver of a child with a disability receiving services from DCPS or the Infants and Toddlers program.
